Making a global impact

The Penn State Center for Global Engineering Engagement (GEE) encompasses a college-level strategic network of global partnerships to enhance the education, research, service, and recruitment of a diverse student body. Serving as the nexus of the College of Engineering’s global activities, GEE reaches across the boundaries of teaching, research, service, student and scholar mobility, and intercultural learning within a framework that encourages diversity, access, equity, and inclusion. The college facilitates faculty-led study abroad programs and a variety of virtual global experiences with partners across the world, with GEE welcoming and supporting international visitors, scholars, and researchers. GEE is also home to the Global Engineering Fellows program and a robust 3+1+1 program to provide international students from select partners institutions the opportunity to earn a master’s degree or doctoral degree from the college. As a thought leader, GEE plays a critical role steering the college’s internationalization agenda and oversees the Global Engineering Engagement Advisory Committee (GEEAC). In addition, GEE promotes a variety of intercultural learning activities and an annual conference to disseminate best practices in the field of international engineering education.
